The Village Chapel of Bald Head Island
Easter Sundays provided the milestones in the early religious life of Bald Head Island. The first worship service was held on Easter Sunday, 1984, in the lounge of the former Bald Head Island Inn.
Chapel Organist and Music Director
The Annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village Chapel was held Sunday morning following 8:30 am Chapel service. President Elizabeth Beam welcomed everyone and opened the meeting with a prayer.
Worship services are held every Sunday as seen here. Communion is offered the first Sunday of the month.
So that the Chapel remains truly ecumenical in spirit, services are conducted by visiting ministers, both active and retired, from all denominations, who have been recommended by Island property owners.
Baptisms, weddings, memorial and other special services are scheduled through the Chapel Office. The Board of Trustees sets the guidelines, policies and procedures to maintain the integrity of the Chapel. As a member of the Southport/Oak Island Inter-Church Fellowship, the Chapel is an active participant in community outreach.
Recommendation forms for visiting ministers can be downloaded here.
